Where Is Jesus?

Luke 2:40-45

40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

When Jesus was twelve years old He visited the temple in Jerusalem with His parents. While He was there He astonished the religious leaders of the day with His teachings. As Joseph and Mary left Jerusalem, they assumed that Jesus was among the crowd traveling with them.

As they made their journey down the dusty road they began to search for Jesus and they could not find Him anywhere. When they noticed He was not with them, they immediately turned around to go back to find Him. It took three days before they finally found Him.

Occasionally, we assume that Jesus is with us, just to find out down the road we left Him behind. A prime example would be Samson, the Bible said that he knew not that the LORD had departed from him.

I wonder; how far down the road have you been without Him?

Maybe, just maybe it's time to stop, look, and turn.

1. Stop just assuming He's with you.

2. Look and assess where you left Him.

3. Turn and go back to where you left Him.

Don't spend another day assuming He is with you, KNOW He is with you.
