Eye Witness

Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

As a preacher I am very interested in the word power. I want to preach with power; say prayers that are empowered, walk in the power of the Spirit, and if I'm not careful I will make this verse all about me.

What is God interested in? Witnessing, telling people about Jesus, and He wants everyone to hear about Him. First, He wants those that are close to home to hear and then those who are in the uttermost parts of the earth. The power of the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to be a witness for Christ. Sharing our faith has been put on the back burner with the convenience of social media. We can make a post or share a verse and with the click of a button ten thousand people see the post.

Conscience clear, I have shared the gospel, but nothing is as powerful or Biblical as building relationships with people and allowing God to use us to share His wonderful plan of redemption. When the Word is shared it will not return void, but accomplish God's eternal purposes. When is the last time you've shared your faith? Let me encourage you to pray that God would empower you with the Holy Spirit and make you a bold witness. God still uses people to reach people.
