Go Again

1 Kings 18:43

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

It had not rained for the space of three and a half years, because Elijah had prayed in the will of God for the heavens to be shut. After the time had passed Elijah prayed again, this time he prayed for the heavens to release the much needed showers onto the parched earth. Elijah sent forth his servant to see if there was any sign of rain in the distance and the servant returned with a negative report, not a cloud in the sky.

Elijah didn't give up, complain, get discouraged, or look for a different way. He told the servant to go again, and if you need to go back seven times then go seven times but don't quit looking until the prayer has been answered. Lets be honest, it takes years for some prayers to get answered.

Many of George Mueller's prayers were answer long after he had entered into heaven, but just because things don't immediately change or the answer does not arrive within a week doesn't mean the answer isn't on the way. Go again, and keep going until the heavens open.

You may not get it right the first time but keep going until you do. The circumstances may get worse but keep going until they get better. Two of the most encouraging words in the Bible, "go again".
