Matthew 3:13-14
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
John the Baptist was a fire and brimstone preacher, he preached repentance and laid the path for the earthly ministry of Jesus. While John was baptizing new converts in the Jordan River Jesus suddenly appeared, and requested the evangelist baptize Him in the Jordan River. John the Baptist answer was classic, you should be baptizing me instead of me baptizing you.
Can you imagine the son of God asking you to baptize Him? I'm with John, I'm not worthy to lace your shoes much less baptize you. But here is a bible truth, God uses people, all types of people, all ages, skin colors, nationalities, God is not confined to a certain group of people. And in this story we see the LORD using John the Baptist to fulfill His good will.
If God uses people then why not you or me? Why not volunteer like Isaiah and say Lord here am I send me.
