Opportunity Knocks

II Corinthians 6:2

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Let's do the opposite of what we normally do, let's not look at the negative but the positive. It's not impossible to think about the good instead of the bad.

We have a tendency to use a magnifying glass to find something wrong so we can right it, and we will leave no stone unturned until every dust particle has been closely examined. We have all magnified the imperfections, mistakes, and bad things that are associated with this world we live in, but today let's look at the good choices we have made instead of the bad ones.

Bad decisions have lasting consequences but so do good decisions. I have missed many opportunities to make a difference, but I have also taken advantage of many opportunities. For instance in January of '84 when the Holy Spirit was calling my sin into account and extending the arm of grace, I didn't turn Him away. I took full advantage of the opportunity and the Lord came into my heart and saved me from Hell.

Why should I allow Satan to control the conversation when I got it right on the greatest decision a person can ever make? The relationship is real, eternal, and secure. As I look back I can testify from the depths of a grateful heart that accepting Jesus as my Savior was the best decision I ever made. The decision to marry Teresa was the right decision; 37 years later we are enjoying the blessings of a Christian home. The choice we made years ago to serve the Lord and put him first was the right decision. I'm glad we took advantage of the opportunity. Thirty five years ago we surrendered to the call God placed on our lives, and the Lord has been gracious to use us to make a difference. I know this one may seem simple to some, but others will completely understand; this past Sunday we went to church and wow! We left saying it was good to be in the house of the Lord, God met with His people.

When I walk through the door of opportunity the value of life multiplies. God multiplies peace, joy, and love, my cup overflows. Are you discouraged? Is Satan controlling your thoughts? Do you want a change? Get up, and make good use of the opportunities before you, today is the day to turn things around.
