Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Tonight I have been watching a reality competition TV show. I don't usually watch reality shows unless there is a competition involved, then they have my attention. The words from the host caught my attention, "Lets see who America chose to save". The show that I'm watching only allows the best people to be saved for another night of competition. If your are good enough, impressed enough people, or worked harder than the others then there is the possibility you could be saved, if not you get voted off and there are no second chances.
If you would allow me I would like to brag on my Savior. Sure He can save the good but one of the things that makes Him so special.. He loves saving the bad.
He died for the whole world, thieves, liars, adulterers, and the greedy. He loves those who are broken, lonely, in darkness, at a dead end in life. There is not one person who He doesn't love unconditionally, who has gone so far that He can't reach them. He will leave the ninety-nine and go looking for the one lost sheep.
It reminds me of an ad I saw one time. REWARD: Missing dog, one eye, deaf, three legs, mange, no teeth. Answers to the name lucky.. If you find this dog please contact me immediately. Lucky? Fortunate? Yes with all those things wrong and someone still loved this dog enough to come looking for him, and was willing to pay a price for him.
Wouldn't you say that we are fortunate, with all of our sin, and short comings the Lord Jesus still loves us? He came looking for us when we could not get to Him, and was willing to pay the price for our redemption. He can save to the uttermost!! Not one person is worthy, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
Say it with me, WHAT A SAVIOR!!
