Proverbs 25:11

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

If someone asks me, "What gets you into trouble most of the time?" My answer is the words I speak, and if I am guessing correctly your answer would be the same as mine. Lets take a moment and look at the other side of the coin.

Do your words only hurt or do they also help? Words like, How are you doing? I love you. I am praying for you. Thank you and please. Can I help you? You have been a blessing to me. I am so glad to see you today. These are words that we use on a daily basis and most of the time we are not aware of the positive impact they have on our friends.

We spend a lot of time trying to control the negative words we speak, but we should also spend an equal amount of time developing positive communication. The Bible teaches us that a word spoken in the right way, and at the right time is to be admired, its like the creative work of an artist.

Choose your words carefully and wisely for in them is the power to lift up or tear down.
